63 degrees and rainy

We had a great run this morning — cool, drizzly, refreshing. I had to get to my Corporate Overlord Cube™ early today, so we ran close to home. I thought it was kinda fun to run past the businesses on South Congress and browse the windows. Dave wasn’t a fan, so I think we’ll be sticking to the hike & bike trail from now on.

I’m woefully behind on my burpees, and I’m not sure how to proceed. The way I see it, I have four options:

1. Suck it up tomorrow and do the 135 burpees I need to do to get current. It would be miserable, but I think I could do it if I do half of them after Bootcamp and half after work.

2. Give myself a “you were sick” break and jump back into the fray today without doing the make-up burpees. Do 30 today and stay on track for the remainder of the 100 Day Challenge.

3. Abandon the Challenge. Who wants to do 100 burpees anyway?

4. Re-start the Challenge at Day 1 and try my best not to miss any days so I don’t have to do a massive make-up again.

I’m torn between option 1 and 2. Boy! I would really like a free pass to skip doing 135 burpees in one day — but that flies directly in the face of my mantra “Never cheat. Never quit.”

Option 3 is not really an option at all. And option 4 seems unrealistic — I’ll be doing make-ups again sometime, and if I start over now, I won’t have the support of knowing everyone else who’s doing it is suffering along with me.

What do you think I should do? Post in my comments and let me know. I’ve got to decide by tomorrow (or face the misery of 166 burpees in one day)!

I dont think its part of your true personality to quit.I think you should catch up and I think you’ll feel like a million bucks after you do because you showed yourself once again that YOU AINT NO QUITTER AND CAN DO ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR MIND TO!!!
I’ll do the 135 burpees with you. Im behind too!

  • Melicious says:

Darn it! I knew someone was going to say “do the burpees” and that my internal peer pressure would make me agree. Bonita, I’m sending you an email so we can set up a burpee time.

  • Jen says:

    Mel –

Just do them. You know you can. They’ll suck, but you’ll ROCK!

  • Melicious says:

Double darn it! Now I really can’t quit.

Thank you, ladies, for reminding me I’m in training to be a badass, not a “sorta badass if I feel like it and it’s not too hard.”
