myPaleoPal 2.0

Social media and I have a love-hate relationship. I love being in touch with all of you — I resent feeling beholden to a gadget and the non-stop input of so much talking. And I feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of options out there: Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, Tumblr, Snapchat… (What is that, even?!)

But now I’m going to encourage you to download an app and join another social network. Contradictions make the world go ’round, my friends.

I want you to join me on myPaleoPal 2.0.

The 2.0 version of myPaleoPal was just released, and it’s fun! You know how awesome it is when you mush up a banana with some Sunbutter? Well, myPaleoPal is like a food journal mushed up with Instagram. It’s not as messy as it sounds! In fact, it’s quite neat.

You use the app to take photos of your food, select the flavor of paleo you follow (general, primal, AIP, Whole30), and post your photo. The community gives you a thumbs up/thumbs down on your food, and you collect new friends and meal inspiration along the way.

I’ve been using it to share my meals for a few days, and I really like that I have a visual record of my consumption. I’m in a phase of food logging again because I have some specific goals, and it’s awesome to have the photos to go along with the written record. Plus, like Instagram, it’s just fun to look at other peoples’ food. So many tasty ideas to steal for your own plate!

So, even though I feel like we’re already paleo pals, can we be pals on myPaleoPal? You can download the app here, then connect with me @Meljoulwan.

I just signed up yesterday! I like that you can just take a picture and don’t have to enter amounts and stuff. It seems pretty easy, although I completely forgot to log today. 😉 I just followed you, looking forward to seeing your posts.

Is this app just for iPhones?

I’ve not downloaded because I’m not paleo and eat grains in moderation and eat a lot of beans. This looks really great though. I use something similar (TwoGrand) and I love the photo logging. It really is great to SEE what you’ve eaten. If I ate paleo I’d totally be all over this.

It’s pretty great – I like tracking photos, mine and other people’s, helps with days when you think of ANYTHING you want. But…of the pics I’ve seen there’s lots of lovely meat but very few veggies. WHERE ARE THE VEGGIES, PEOPLE?

Is this app available for android phones anywhere? I’m a fan of all your recipes and stuff, but I have the wrong phone! lol
