Spice Up Your Life

quarterly

It’s officially the last call for my “Spice Up Your Life” Quarterly box! There are less than 50 boxes left and you don’t want to miss out on this one!

My “Spice Up Your Life” box includes delicious seasonings you might never have tried and a very functional but also playful kitchen tool. I also created seven new recipes just for this Quarterly box. There are recipes for four new spice blends that I’ve been using (and loving) on our meals for weeks. These spice blends can be made in, like, 2 minutes and put together basic spices in unusual ways that will add big bursts of flavor to your meals. There are also three new food recipes using the exotic spices included in the box. (I have to say, one of the recipes in this box is in my top 10, all-time favorites that I’ve developed. Sneak preview below; I’ve blurred the label so as not to ruin the delicious surprise.

As always, Dave and I collaborated on a hand-written and illustrated letter and recipes. The pages we created for you are ridiculously cute, and I really think many of these recipes could become staples in your kitchen.

Head on over here to subscribe. (And if you need more convincing, here’s the skinny on my previous Quarterly boxes.)

About Quarterly

Every three months, the Quarterly curators — like Nina Garcia, Andrew Zimmern, Timothy Ferriss, and me (!) — put together a box of goodies and send it to their subscribers. It’s like a quarterly magazine only better because it’s stuff to do — and in my case: eat — in addition to stuff to read. “It’s like a magazine,” says a Quarterly rep, “but instead of receiving words on a page, our subscribers receive actual items that tell a compelling story crafted by the curator.”

My Quarterly Box

I’m pretty excited about being your personal paleo/primal shopper, and I fill my Quarterly boxes with the stuff I love: handy, cute kitchen gadgets; delicious new paleo and primal products; books that inspire and inform; and exclusive recipes developed specifically for the Quarterly box. Imagine I could turn my blog into a box of gifts, and you’ll be on the right track. Learn more and sign up here!

I am so incredibly excited for this box!! I use the spice blends from your books constantly to make boring/simple meals tastier when I don’t have a ton of time to cook (I go through Lebanese Seven Spice Blend like crazy), so this is right up my alley!

    • I’m so glad you’re looking forward to it. We just finished the handwritten recipes and illustrations last night, and they’re really cute! I’m also very excited about the new spice blends. I’ve been using them a lot since I made them up a few weeks ago, and they’re really good go-tos for making boring food come alive. I hope you like them!

I am SO SO SO excited to get this box of treats! 🙂 Our New Hampshire seacoast snow is piled ever so high, and I’m just plumb SNOW WEARY…have had no time to relax, just shovel, cook, eat, sleep, work, REPEAT. ~ This spicy box of yum will be MOST welcome – Thanks Melissa!!

    • Hooray! I’m happy you’re excited! I hear you about the snow. My driveway has one little lane to move the car and the rest is a MOUNTAIN. I have a date with the shovel this afternoon.

    Hi Melissa!,

I received the EAT02 box an wante to ask you how to use the black salt and the knight egg! Looking forward to your next box.

    • The black salt is great on ANYTHING as a finishing salt. Just use it the way you would a salt shaker at the table — just sprinkle a pinch onto your food.

The egg cup is just a fun way to serve an egg. I use it for hard-boiled eggs just to make meals a little more playful.

Just received box 3. Can’t wait to try the balti seasoning. I love the mountain spice shakers. Would the dark cocoa be to strong for your chocolate chili?
