Um… remember in August when Dave and I went to a Patriots pre-season game? Dave bought me those tickets as a lovely and much-appreciated consolation prize.
My first choice had been to see the New England Patriots and Tom Brady take on the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning. They’re my two favorite teams, and I’m nerdily (what?! nerd + mightily) inspired by the tenacity, grace, and skill of Brady and Manning. They’re 37 and 38, respectively, and still playing at the elite level. Watching them succeed (and occasionally fail) motivates me to strive to be my awesome best. (If you haven’t read this piece on Peyton Manning’s neck surgeries and recovery, you must! It’s a story of determination and grit, as much as football.)
Last year, when the Patriots faced the Broncos, the Pats were down 24-0 at halftime. In the second half of the game, the Pats scored 31 unanswered points and won in overtime, 34-31. THAT WAS SO EXCITING and another reason I love to watch these two teams battle it out.
Anyway…
A few weeks ago, Pepsi started a sweepstakes to win tickets to the Patriots v. Broncos game on November 2 — plus field passes, a night in a hotel at Patriots Place, gift cards to buy stuff at the stadium… basically, your dream Football Sunday scenario.
Dave won.
Seriously.
Dave won the drawing.

I didn’t really believe it until the tickets arrived via FedEx.
Field visit? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! At 3:25 p.m. on Sunday, November 2. That’s during the TEAM WARMUPS.
I’ve said “Holy sh*t!” about a million times since we got the news, and I suspect I’ll say it a million more.

Holy guacamole!!! That’s soooo awesome! my husband and I went to the Falcons LIons game last weekend in London (we live in Scotland) and it was fantastic, we never thought we would ever get to see our team (Falcons) play in the flesh, never mind on home turf!!!
