Our New Project: Strong Sense of Place
My new project is taking all of my attention right now, and I'd love for you to join me for new adventures! It's called Strong...
Read MoreOn Wednesday, September 4, I’m teaching a cooking demonstration class at Whole Foods Culinary Center. That means I cook (a little) and you eat. YAY!
The menu will feature six recipes from Well Fed 2: More Paleo Recipes For People Who Love To Eat – plus I’ll give everyone a look inside the pages of Well Fed 2. I’m super excited for someone other than Dave, friends, and family to try these recipes – and September 4 is your official opportunity to take the first bites.
If you’ve never been to a demo class before, here’s how it works: I talk through the recipes, demonstrating how they’re done, like a cooking show. There’s overhead video and everything! Then magically, just as I’m wrapping up the how-to, you’re served the dish I just showed you – because in the actual chefs’ kitchen, the fabulous cooks on the Whole Foods team are making the food for real.
Here’s what’s on the menu:
Silky Gingered Zucchini Soup
Turkish Doner Kebab over greens w/ Gyro Sauce
Taj Mahal Chicken w/ Crisp-Sweet Collard Greens
Pear and Bacon Bites
What: Whole Foods “Paleo 102” Demonstration Class
Date: Wednesday, September 4
Time: 6:30-8:30
Where: Whole Foods Culinary Center, 525 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin
Cost: $50.00
My new project is taking all of my attention right now, and I'd love for you to join me for new adventures! It's called Strong...

Do you ever make it up to the Dallas area to do these cooking demonstrations?
We *might* do some traveling around Texas in conjunction with the book coming out. I was invited to teach at Whole Foods in Austin — not sure how I go about making it happen in other cities… but if y’all are interested, I can definitely look into it.
Yes! I would love if you came to the Dallas area.
I haven’t made a recipe out of your book that I didn’t like!
Donner kebab?! Boom-PREORDERED!
YAY! Thanks for the pre-order. Glad you’re excited!
I’m SO tempted to make the 3.5 hr drive. Any plans to come to Houston? Pretty please!!!
Houston? Dallas?
Looks like its time for a Texas Tour!

We are super excited for Part II!!!
have pre ordered my copy over here in Glasgow, Uk, but it wont get here till November!! But if its anything like your first, it’ll be worth the wait 🙂
Hi Mel! Are you and Michele from NomNom Paleo doing the Estes Park event again this year? I have not seen anything about it.. My husband and I missed it last year but will not miss it again! (If not, maybe you and Michele could do a joint book tour!!! I preordered both and can’t wait!)
For a whole bunch of reasons, the Estes Park event for this year has been postponed until 2014 — but Michelle and I have talked about doing some kind of book events together somewhere… details coming as soon as we figure them out 🙂
Thank you so much for pre-ordering!
Bummer…and now I am REALLY kicking myself for not making the drive up to Estes last year! But hopefully you will be in Colorado again soon. You two are my absolute faves, and helped me through my first Whole 30 last year. Thanks for all that you do! 🙂
Love the idea of you and Michelle. The dynamic duo.
Both books preordered on first days possible. Can’t wait!
Cook and feel well!!
Bon Apetite
Hi, Melissa,
I recently bought your first cookbook on Kindle (ipad app) and love it. Do you plan to digitize this one as well? It’s nice to be able to wipe spills and spatters off my “cookbooks”. 🙂
Thanks for buying Well Fed — glad you’re enjoying it!
Yes, we’ll do a Kindle version of Well Fed 2… eventually. I suspect it will be early in 2014. We’ll also release a PDF version of WF2 at the same time as the print book.
The PDF version will be just fine–thanks! 🙂
This is the only time I ever have, and the only time I ever will utter this phrase:
WHY don’t I live in Texas?
I searched high and low for my Well Fed book today because I was craving the chocolate chili. I can’t find my cookbook (sad) but I did find the recipe on your site (thank you!!). I plan to order Well Fed 2 for more great meliciousness…and hopefully Well Fed 1 will show up sometime.
Could you send me the link where I could pre-order your new cook book?

I can’t wait for WF2 to come out. WF single handedly is getting me through my Whole 30. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us!
Thank you! It’s so great to know you found Well Fed helpful. YAY!
Oh man! I just found out about this and am so sad I missed it. Are you going to be doing another one anytime soon? I’m very excited for your next book!
I think I’m doing a Well Fed 2 event in November, and then I’ll probably do more cooking classes in the new year. Will definitely keep my blog updated with the info. Thanks!
Only recently bought WF and my son and I tried a “cooking day” so we could live off Hot Plates for a week. We had a blast with the food prep, and LOVED the food all week! Now, after trying several of the other recipes (char siu was huge!), my kiddo was asking, “Mom, did you order WF2 yet?” Thanks for sharing your recipes!
I love this story! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and share it. Sounds like you have a smart kiddo 🙂
Mel! I was so glad to get to attend your Well Fed 2 Preview!
I just made the Well Fed 2 Taj Majal Chicken over Well Fed’s Rice Pilaf. It is AMAZING!!!!
It is so good, it FEELS like cheating. (Is that against the rules?) 😉
Thank you for doing what you do.
I cannot wait for Well Fed 2!!!!
Thank you SO MUCH for coming. It’s always such a comfort and fun to see a friendly face in the room 🙂
I’m glad the Taj Mahal Chicken recipe worked for you. YAY! And now, it’s not against the rules. But I love that you think it tastes like it should be.
Thank you for taking the time to write. I really appreciate it. Hope to see you soon!
