Vote in The Homies

I know I’ve been asking for a lot of support from you guys lately. Can I test your patience and be all me-me-me one more time?

The Kitchn, one of my favorite food-related blogs, is sponsoring The Homies, a blog awards competition specifically for home-related blogs that cover subjects like home decor, family, recipes, and (ahem) healthy cooking.

I’m in the Best Healthy Cooking Blog category, and I would love your vote.

To vote, you have to create an account with The Kitchn. Kind of annoying, I know… but it’s pretty easy because you can use Facebook, Twitter, or your email — and The Kitchn really is great, so it’s worth having an account to comment on their posts and participate in surveys and such.  Create a login here.

Then go here to vote for The Clothes Make The Girl in the Best Healthy Cooking Blog category.

THANK YOU!

I voted for you 🙂 And by the way, I am just finishing up making two of your recipes for the week – the Moroccan meatballs and the Cottage Pie. And yesterday I made the Cinnamon Beef Stew with Orange Gremolata. Yum! Really enjoying cooking my way through your cookbook and adding my own little touches to the recipes as well. Bravo to you!

  • Kay says:

I registered but couldn’t figure out how to . But I will. Love your book!

Just voted and not five minutes before that bought the book, super stoked to make some bangin’ scotch eggs!

  • Hope says:

    DONE!

P.S. I have a question: Weren’t we supposed to have The Gifts of Imperfection Bookclub again last night? Did I miss something? Is it posted somewhere else?

    • Mel says:

No, you didn’t miss it… I’m behind. I’m sorry! My new boss (me!) is a slave driver, and I got behind on reading. I expect to put up the next book club post on Friday. Thanks for your patience!

  • Tanya says:

Done! We just had your Cinnamon Beef last night, much of which was eaten straight from the pot- it was that good! I think we’re going to try the carnitas tomorrow!

  • I voted for you! Paleo for the win!

  • bknsman says:

Done! If I had the time, I’d create a zillion new emails to put you over the top! You are my heroine!

  • Katie says:

Done in thanks for the enormously helpful and wonderful work that you do on this site. I’ve recently switched to a Paleo diet and am finally seeing some progress in my fitness goals after years of failure. Your recipes are delicious and your techniques have revolutionized my ability to have healthy food ready to go at a moments notice. I’ve been at Penzey’s twice a week in the last month and I think I finally have it all!

    • Mel says:

Congratulations making the switch to paleo — good for you! So glad it’s working for you. And thank you for the kind words about my blog and recipes… sorry about Penzeys 😉

      • Katie says:

As a good Wisconsin girl, I am all too happy to support a fine Milwaukee based company. And they have a brick and mortar store right in my town. I will probably be ordering at least several more copies of Well Fed from Amazon for gifts……good luck in the contest.

  • Registered and voted! Since finding your blog recently, I’ve really enjoyed trying new paleo recipes. I just ordered Well Fed and am so excited to try more. Good luck in the Kitchn contest!

  • Linda says:

Good luck, Mel! You’re right at the top, as you should be! 🙂

  • Maggie says:

Done! You deserve to win. Best of luck!

  • DrKellyann says:

You ARE the best healthy cook – so I’m votin’!!

Go get em’ Mel. You deserve it!

  • Jackie says:

Done! Love your cookbook! I’ve made the pork carnitas and the jicama “potato” salad so far and guess what? I mixed the leftovers together and took it the next day as lunch…amazing.

Also, since my only New Years resolution was to use more spices, I’m now a total success!!

    • Mel says:

Glad you liked the jicama potato salad. I really like it, too… but I’ve been curious about if it’s a hit with others. And I can imagine that mixed with some pork, that would be a might power salad of awesome. YAY!

  • Ehsa says:

Now here’s a win-win, or at least I hope it’ll be a win for you. My win is the introduction to the site; easy to sign up, lots of great ideas. And BTW: ask for support any time and as often as you need it. It is really nice to be able to give you back a little when you have given me so much inspiration … not to mention Smupdates and LOL’s!

  • serena says:

    Done. You’re awesome.

  • Jennifer says:

Got my vote hands down! I’m waiting for your cookbook – it’s been shipped and I can’t wait to receive it. Gotta tell you that I tried the eggplant f’armesan a couple of days ago and it was deadly delicious – so much flavour. Kind of a pain to make but soooo worth it!

    • Mel says:

Yeah, there are lots of steps in the eggplant, but it lasts for a few meals, so I always feel like it’s worth it. Plus, so yummy, right?!

Have fun with Well Fed! The Eggplant Strata recipe in the book is much better than the one on my site!

  • keturah says:

Done! yum – your protein pellets are amazing! paleo makes me happy..yay
