Whole30: Day 11

From June 1 through June 30, I’m participating in the Whole30 clean-up/change your life/heal thyself plan. (Here’s why.)

Training
Ahem. Let’s just say the my priorities were “flexible” this week. My workouts were deprioritized in favor of rest (good) and work (less-than-optimal). I’m feeling an itch to lift heavy things. Who knew that could happen?

Food
Oh, dear. Yesterday for breakfast, I gobbled two fried eggs as I got ready for work and talked on the phone, then ate 1/2 a Larabar as I walked out the door to work. Snacks were snarfed while standing in various conference rooms (cucumbers, green pepper, olives, pork meatballs). Lunch (Scotch egg, broccoli, blackberries) was enjoyed (sigh) while on a client conference call. Delightful.

Dinner, at least, was relaxing (eventually). I know everyone under the sun says it’s a bad idea, but last night, I didn’t care: I ate fennel and ground turkey while watching a Dick Francis movie I’d been waiting all week to see. It’s the story of one of my favorite Francis-created jockeys: Sid Halley. Very British, very ’70s. (See “From Fridge to Plate in 20 Minutes” for details about my trying dinner experience last night.)

Sleep
Not too bad: roughly 8 hours. Tonight, I’m shooting for 8+.

Ahh, you're hooked. More than two days without my barbell and things just aren't right. Find something heavy and give it a toss.
