Picture Perfect

That’s Fit is a fitness and nutrition blog in the AOL network, and one of my blog posts about how to pose for photos is now live.

10 Tips for Picture-Perfect Poses

If I’d been writing the story for my blog, I would have added a Tip #11: Always take two photos: a nice one and a mean one. Sure, the nice ones are sweet and smiley… but the mean photos are always better, see?
The trick is to follow all the suggestions in my That’s Fit article, except the one about smiling. Instead, replace your smile with an intimidating scowl.

I perfected my mean look during my Roller Derby days. Here’s what you need to do: Close your mouth, bite down with your back teeth, slightly narrow your eyes (like you’re hearing something that makes you really angry… like someone defending a high-carb, low-fat diet), and then tilt your chin either up a bit (to show you’re out of patience) or down (to show you’re on to the game).

    This is funny!

I have another f/up question…are you still taking the Emergen C stuff? I need to know how its working…

I am taking the Emergen-C Lite… I don't know what to say about whether or not it's "working." I feel the same as usual: mostly energetic, tired when it seems appropriate.

The other thing I was testing out that does seem to be making a difference is Peter Gilham's Natural Calm (http://www.petergillham.com/product-line/peter-gillhams-natural-calm.php)… at first, I was taking a light dose (based on the product recommendation), and it was disrupting my sleep. I've since started taking the full dose (2 teaspoons) about half an hour before bed, and I'm sleeping GREAT! It also helps with keeping things moving, if you know what I mean… so bathroom visits are very regular. I like it a lot.

Grrr! The scowl is one of my favorite poses. And, I think its what most of my co-workers see on a daily basis. Ha!
