Veggies and Sleep and Training, Oh My: 9/21/09 Report

My report from Monday, September 21, 2009, faithfully submitted for your review… (Read this if you’re wondering why I’m posting my veggie list.)

Hrs of sleep:
7.5

Veggies:
1 c sweet potato (post-workout)
1.5 red pepper
2 c cabbage (raw)
1 carrot
1/2 cucumber
1 c snow peas
1 c summer squash

Fruit:
1 c strawberries

Training:
Bootcamp
4 rounds:

  • 20 bench press, 15-lb. dbs
  • 50 squats
  • sprint up & down hill

My time: 13:08

3 rounds w/ a partner:

  • Alternating med ball clean + sprawl, 10 each
  • 15 knee-knee-tap situps
  • 10 pushups w/ a high five to your partner

The skinny
Stephen has become my benchmark at Bootcamp. He’s, like, half my age and a BOY, so he definitely has the testosterone edge. I try to catch him, and that makes me go faster than I would on my own. We were neck-and-neck for most of the workout. During one of the rounds, he was chatting with Crystal and I hauled ass on the squats so I could start the sprint before him. But that boy is fast on his feet: he caught me halfway up the hill. On the last round, I thought I had him, but he passed me again. I finished two seconds behind him. Not bad for a 41-year-old lady!

Then we got to be partners on the second part of the workout, and I must say, we excelled at the partner pushups.
