I’m on Jury Duty

This morning, I reported for jury duty, fully expecting to get bounced. But I didn’t! So I’m serving on the jury of a murder trial… which is awesome research for my future mystery novel.

Anyway, that means I won’t be posting to my blog much this week.

Erika, Stacey, Bonita, and I are excused from the official workout today because we were required to do 90 pushups during our CrossFit Women workout this morning. I tried to do the first sets as perfectly as possible, but somewhere around 30 or so, my elbows moved further out to the sides… and around 70 or so, my chest wasn’t touching the ground anymore. But I finished them all on my toes. Stubbornness triumphs again!

50 wall ball, 14-lb. ball
60 situps
70 kettlebell swings, 14 kg kb
80 walking lunges
90 pushups
100 squats

My time: 22:10

    That’s a great jury selection. I always get picked for the minor traffic violations. Bounce!

    I did those 90 push ups on my knees, so I’m going to go ahead and do the first set of push up challenge exercises. I should have bitten down and just done them on my toes…slacker.

    Wow, a murder trial?

    I started out in column 3, thinking that I should start harder and fall back to the second column if necessary. So, today I did 10-12-7-7-12.

    So… Dave was doing his pushups tonight, and I got envious. So I did a sorta workout, even though I did a shit-ton of pushups this a.m.

    I did 6-6-4-4… but didn’t bother wth the max round because I did so many this morning.

    Bernie: You’re a monster.

    Erika: You killed it this a.m. with that 16kg kettlebell!

    I do not envy you this particular tour of (jury) duty. I’ve served on two, and single-handedly hung one. Both personal injury, though, and both lasting only a day. I hope that this experience provides inspiration for your bestseller without sapping your time and/or energy.

    Okay, so I’m on the T-Th-Sat schedule so here’s my first workout:

    Pushups: 6-6-4-4-5 Ouch
    Sit-ups: 15-18-15-15-22 Oy
    Squats: 13-16-9-9-20 Wobble, wobble

    Tomorrow’s cardio then back to the challenge!

    Might I say that we all rock?!?!?

    I ripped my hands open in kettlebell class with snatches and pull ups and am strangely proud of this fact.
