100 Pushups: Getting Started

We’re just few days away from the official start of the 100 Pushups Challenge. TEAM RELENTLESS has grown to 25 members! I love the idea of our little pushup army.

Tomorrow, I’ll be posting instructions about the pushup assessment we’ll all be doing this weekend. But today…

Your assignment:

1. Watch this video.
It demonstrates good pushup form and shows modification for pushup-ers who aren’t ready to do the reps on their toes.

2. Think about your goal for the 100 Pushups Challenge.
My goal is to really work on my form over the next 6 weeks. My recent encounter with Angie showed me that I can muddle my way through 100 pushups if I take rest breaks, but the last 20 weren’t nearly as low or tight or pretty as the first 20. What’s your goal?

3. Write down your goal.
You don’t have to show anyone or tell me, but you must commit to it. In your heart and in your noggin. And if you want to share with the group, post your goal to the comments.

One hundred beautiful, low, tight, lean, tough pushups… here we come!

I’ll be doing this tonight when I get home to see what level I’m at. It will be…interesting! 🙂

So I did 8 in perfect form before my form started to break and I had to drop to my knees. I guess I need to see what level I fit in w/the push-up challenge

Form shmorm. My goals are to 1) never miss a pushups workout over the next six weeks and 2) not have my arms fall off. 100% compliance and arms still attached at the end of May? Brilliant.
