Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

I’m totally in “getting ready for the practice half marathon” mode. Drinking lots of water and decaf tea. Making sure I eat perfect Zone meals and snacks. Planning my bedtime and naps. I’ve gone from half-hearted to super-excited. Woot!

Tomorrow I have my first WW weigh-in as a Lifetime member (I love that phrase.), then we’re picking up our race packets and driving the course. It always freaks me out a little to see the course — frexciting! — but it also helps with visualization when I’m too excited to sleep. Today I learned an incredibly reassuring piece of information: there are bathrooms at the start and finish lines, as well as miles 6, 8, and 10. Even I won’t have to pee more than that!

Bootcamp this morning was a perfect pre-race workout: challenging enough to make me feel like I did something worthwhile, but not one of those days that kicked my ass too much. Thank you, Crystal!

Our workout
As a team, complete the following as quickly as possible:
1000 jump ropes
600 chest press w/PVC pipe & fast feet
250 situps
150 one-legged squats (a.k.a., pistols)

We had three people at Bootcamp this morning, and each of us had a specialty: I was on jump rope, Blake on pistols, and Vickie on chest press. Who knows what our time was?! We were all moving as fast as possible the whole time.

8 burpees + med ball soldier walk + 50 mt. climbers + soldier walk
partner med ball slams + 25 knee-to-elbow + partner med ball slams
8 burpees + med ball soldier walk + 50 mt. climbers + soldier walk

We passed around a 10-lb. med ball, so we alternated between 6 and 10.

2 rounds:
plank with feet on bench (:45 then 1:30)
400m run

I enjoyed that last combo a ridiculous amount. Running after planking felt like… flying. It was wicked fun.

Hope you’re having a flying Friday, too!

I Went Running Today

Even when I did it all the time, I never became a very fast runner. But man! I loved running. Even when I hated running,...

Okay, I think I just figured out what “as a team” means. I was like, Jesus Christ! 250 sit-ups is finsane (yes, finsane; you know what I mean). Wishing you an incredible Sunday. You’re so going to kick butt.
