A Week in the Zone: Thursday

I had a very… what’s the PC word I’m looking for?… challenging…

I had a very challenging day at work today. And not in that good-challenging or fun-challenging or make-me-strong-challenging way of a CrossFit workout.

No. My day was challenging as in “TOTALLY SUCK-ASS.”

I couldn’t get it together to take photos of my food today. I’m tired. I’m hungry. My hormones are receding so I can enjoy the gift of being a woman. (It’s not fair! I don’t even want to have babies.) Based on all of the previous statements, you’d be correct in assuming I’m cranky.

But I loved my workout this morning, and I ate good-tasting, healthy food today, so not a total loss. I have to admit: I’m seriously considering a small serving of popcorn right now, but I’ll have it with some protein so y’all can rest easy.

Pre-Workout, 6:15 a.m.
Water
Advocare Catalyst

Breakfast, 7:45 a.m.
3 blocks P+C, 6 blocks F, 6.5 WW points
2 oz. chicken
1/2 c blueberries
1/4 c Fiber One (7 grams of fiber!)
1c 1% milk
18 almonds
fish oil, glucosamine, Juice Plus

Snack, mid morning
1 block P+C+F, 2 WW points
1/2 Balance bar

Lunch, 12:00 p.m.
3 blocks P+C, 6 blocks F, 5.5 WW points
Osso buco stew
pink grapefruit
10 olives + 12 almonds

fish oil, glucosamine, Juice Plus

Snack, 4:00 p.m.
(after horrible 3-hour client meeting. Ravenously hungry. I ate it like an animal.)

1 block P+C+F, 2 WW points
1/2 Balance bar

Dinner, 6:30 p.m. – Magnolia Cafe
3 blocks P+C, 6 blocks F, 8 WW points
2 eggs
1 oz. ham
home fries (about 1/2 a potato)
fruit cup – approx. 1 c of mixed cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes

Pre-bed Snack, 9:30 p.m.
1 block P+C+F, 3 WW points
2 cups popped popcorn
2% string cheese
1/2 teaspoon oil

    You… YOU were a delight. The rest of the day? Not so much.

    I just need to get my beauty sleep so I can remember that it’s only work and starting at 5:00 Friday, I don’t have to think about it again until Monday a.m. Seems like a sad-ish way to muddle through, but that’s the sitch right now.

    All I can say is YAY, CROSSFIT! I can’t wait to workout tomorrow and get outside on the weekend.
