Another Sugar Bullet… Dodged

Beware the afternoon slump!

During our afternoon break, along with coffee and tea, the conference provided a buffet table with platters of warm chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies… parked next to a freezer stuffed full of ice cream bars and frozen Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

I’m not too proud to admit I made it to the table and my hand reached out for the tongs to take a cookie. I was doing all kinds of mental gymnastic rationalizations about how I could just eat half or that even a whole one wouldn’t be that bad.

Whew.

And now I’m off to band practice with 2% string cheese, an apple, and some almonds in my bag. I will not be defeated by today’s wacky schedule.

Seriously, that’s ph3n0m3n@l! Your dietary resiliance is damn near knee-scabbin’ bow-worthy. Reesess PB cups are my weakness.

    Mel,
How impowering to not get snagged and dragged backwards into the “muck”.
I think it will get easier the more times you have to face those well worn thoughts.. eventually there will be no thought process and therefore no desire.

    🙂

You know, it would all be ever-so-much easier is cookies weren’t so stupidly delicious.

    Mmmmmm…. cookies.

I’m holding out for Christmas because I make the best Russian Teacakes in the land. I do! And I’m eating them.

    Mmmmmm.
