Back at Bootcamp

OK… whew. I’m over the hurdle of “First. Bootcamp. Back.” And it felt great! My Frankenneck stayed glued shut and everything!

Our workout
Max rounds, 15 minutes

  • 9 med ball cleans
  • 12 dumbbell swings, 20 lbs.
  • 15 deadlifts, 20 lbs.
  • 20 supermans
  • sprint

I finished 5 rounds, just under the wire. And while I would never brag myself (ahem), Annie said, “Way to have your throat slit and still finish more than the rest of us, Mel.”

Neat.

3 rounds

  • mountain climbers
  • sprint + 5 burpees + sprint
  • mountain climbers

Abs for the finish

  • 2X scissors, 30 sec.
  • 2X flutter, 30 sec.
  • 2X straight-leg crunches, 30 sec.
  • 3X Russian twists, 30 sec.

Now I’m off to the doctor for another follow-up appointment and, I think, some blood work. The Frankenneck is healing pretty well. Much as I’m not so thrilled to be back at work, sitting at my corporate overlords’ computer desk all day has been good for reducing the swelling on my incision, so I guess there really is a silver lining if you look hard enough.

Erin and I are in the planning stages of a parallette-building scheme/party. Post in the comments if you want to join us for a DIY fitness equipment extravaganza sometime this month. Check out the fancy parallettes Randal brought to our Bootcamp Brawl in October:
