When the alarm went off at 5:57 a.m. today, I was thisclose to turning it off and going back to sleep. I quickly sifted through an inventory of potential excuses:

I have a headache.

I went to bed at 11:30 p.m. – that’s not enough sleep.

I can do a solo workout when I get home from work.

I kinda have cramps.

By the time I’d run through the list a few times, I was awake enough to realize all of those were lame rationalizations. If I’m going skip Bootcamp, I’ve got to have an excuse with some heft to it.

So I got up.

And a stupid cockroach almost ran across my bare foot in the bathroom.

So I dropped my hard acrylic, pro-style make-up case on him. Smoosh!

Today’s Workout:
3 rounds:

  • 15 med ball cleans (in a circle: clean the ball, pass to the left, repeat), 12-, 8-, and 6-lb. balls
  • bear crawl
  • 20 med ball slams, 8-lb. ball
  • crab walk
  • 25 med ball situps
  • run 200m

Y’all know I love the bear crawl. Love it! It will definitely be part of the Melicious workout I’ve been perfecting during work meetings.

But the crab walk… hmmm. Jury’s still out on that one. Crystal was taking photos this morning, and when the camera seemed like it was aimed in my direction during the crab walk, I heard a scary voice (mine!) threaten, “If you take a picture of me right now, I will kill you.”

She didn’t.

Anyway, here’s that pretty lady from the bear crawl video, demonstrating a proper crab walk: http://youtube.com/watch?v=U7n_qKGtPZ4
