Weekend Workouts… Woot!

Last night after work, I collapsed on the couch and zonked out until dinner. Then I ate like I’d just returned from a season of Survivor, fell asleep on the couch until 9:00, then went to bed for real and slept until 6:00 a.m.

I guess I was tired.

And now I’m FIRED UP for my weekend workouts.

Bootcamp this morning was ridiculous-fun-challenging. We did a bunch of stuff with the medicine ball, then had to sprint up the snake path (a serpentine, uphill sidewalk) with a 13-lb. kettebell in each hand — and then run up four more times with a 6-lb. medicine ball overhead. We also bear crawled (love it!), side shuffled, and sprinted. In between, we did mountain climbers and jump squats and panted. And the final climb was walking lunges to the top (62 lunges, to be exact).

Here’s a really pretty woman demonstrating the bear crawl:

And here’s a little dude on the beach doing the bear crawl the way I do it in my imagination:

And finally, bear crawl with kettlebells, which I totally want to try now!

Tomorrow at 6:15 a.m., Dave and I are running the 3-mile hike & bike loop with 4X 30-second sprints in the middle, then I weigh-in at my Weight Watchers meeting, and head to the CrossFit Central women’s workout. Woot! I’m hoping for a good weigh-in tomorrow. I have just 6.4 little pounds to my Weight Watchers goal, and man! I would like to get there before the end of the summer. It would feel so great to do the final Spartan 300 workout at my goal weight.

I’m not sure what’s happening after that, and I don’t really care. I’m excited to get outside and play.
