And A Deadhang Pullup, No Band

Dave and I did The 12 Days of CrossFit Christmas workout this morning. A few observations:

1. Silly headgear and socks make any workout more fun.

2. Burpee box jumps are awesome.

3. Handstand pushups are not.

4. Brian Setzer Orchestra’s Christmas Rocks is a fine soundtrack for a holiday WOD.

5. I wish Santa could bring me a kipping pullup or, at the very least, new workout pants because these are not very flattering on me.

Yes, my chin did clear the bar on this chinup… no jump! no band!… but there’s still a little box under my feet. For now.

Our time: 16:30
We did 7 one-arm snatches on each side and alternated our burpee box jumps (I go, you go. I go, you go.)

    Well at least you know your strong enough to do the kip just a matter of getting the swing. Dead hang is said to be harder, so it's GONNA freaking happen soooooooon.

    Awesome WOD! Scott and I did this one at our local CrossFit affiliate, CrossFit Richardson. John's (the CFR owner) making this Thursday's WOD…so, we were the guinea pigs!

    Here's how we worked it:
    Kettlebell Swings (53/35lb)
    Russian Twists (20/14lb)
    Wallball Shots (20/14lb)
    Power Snatches (95/65lb)
    Man-Makers (25/15lb)

    And, as for the 2-Minute Plank…we decided that if you had to break the plank position, you had to then run another 400 and return to the position (finishing from where you left off). That two minutes was brutal! But, the threat of a run got me through it.

    Thank you for the WOD and for bringing the Christmas cheer! I can't wait to see what's up for New Year's Day…not too much pressure…right!?

    Burpee box jumps = awesome. Do a burpee… and instead of jumping up in the air, jump on a box. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

    Anniebug, those socks are a Target purchase. Pretty sweet, right?!
