I Have a Confession to Make: Burpees

So… you might have noticed I’ve stopped giving y’all updates on my progress with the 100 Day Burpee Challenge. That’s ’cause I stopped doing ’em around 52.

I know. I know!

I was all “discipline is good” and crap like that.

And discipline *is* good.

I was just beginning to feel like doing burpees and Bootcamp and indoor class and handstands and baby parkour and the Lean Turkey Sprint and training for a half marathon was too much. I was feeling broke-down instead of super-powered.

Something had to give, and it was 50+ burpees every day.

So there you go. Confession made.

Whew.

This morning, we did burpess during our Bootcamp workout, and they felt awesome. (Awesomely hard, but awesome.)

3 rounds for time:

  • 20 squats
  • 40 straight-leg crunches
  • 20 double-unders or 60 jumps
  • sprint lap around the parking lot

My time: 12:something, I think

10-lb med ball:

  • 20 around-the world
  • 20 overhead toss

For time (15-minute cut-off), 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 of each:

  • weighted burpees, 10-lb. dumbbells
  • thrusters, 10-lb. dumbbells
  • pistol situps, 10-lb. ball (knee slam L/R + situp)

My time: 13:42
