How I love-hate you!
The air was liquid this morning, and I regretted my long pants and long-sleeved shirt pretty much immediately. Dis-gust-ing!
Thankfully, Crystal’s workout was challenging enough to wipe all thoughts of petty comfort from my mind. NO THINKING, just DOING.
Our workout
3 rounds for time:
- 20 lunges in place
- 30 thrusters, 15-lb. dumbbells
- 40 swings, 25-lb. dumbbell
- 50 dead lift, 15-lb. dumbbells
Just before we started, Crystal warned us there was a 25-minute cut-off, which prompted a fellow Bootcamper to whisper, “It’s going to take 25 minutes?!”
My time: 20:42 (I finished first. Woot!)
Odds-n-ends
- 5 XR forearm planks: raise opposite arm+leg, hold 10 seconds, switch
- 2X 12 V-ups
- 10 burpees
I’m on my fifth day in a row of CF workouts. I’m going to soldier on and do the I AM CROSSFIT workout #3 tomorrow, followed by a CF Endurance, and then rest… blessed rest.
I listened to a really great podcast on CrossFit Journal the other day about how to program rest versus workout days. If I feel raggedy next week, I’m taking Thursday as a rest day so instead of a 6-days-in-a-row schedule, it will look like this:
M: on
T: on
W: on
Th: off
F: on
S: on
Su: off
…which is closer to the ideal 3 on/3 off.
Anyway. enough geeking out about CrossFit. I have copywriting to do.
Happy Friday!
