Remember the time Smudge embraced the Halloween spirit and festooned herself in cobwebs?! She somehow got into the (very creepy) basement of our big Victorian...

Sometimes, when I’m hard at work typing and thinking, or cooking, or just generally trying to get ahead in the world, I take a break to see what Smudge is up to.
This just in: Recipe testing has proven too demanding for Smudge and she has taken refuge in the re-usable grocery bags from our local HEB. I was chopping, stirring, and generally making a mess of the kitchen when I noticed her — sound asleep — inside the empty bag I neglected to put away in my rush to get cooking.
After two hours, I’d successfully produced Chinese Chicken Salad, Slow Cooker Indian Chicken Curry, and Thai Butternut Soup with Shredded Chicken. Smudge had accomplished a roll to the other side of her body.

Oooh, she is so cute!!
Mmmm… Thai butternut soup… When do we get that recipe?
It’s on one of the 54 recipes that will be in Living Paleo for Dummies. But Well Fed v.2 will have some really good soups, too!
I think Smudge was just making sure no one was going to steal your bag! My 18 year old cat Smitty guards both my couch and bed for the same reason. It’s a dirty, thankless job, but someone’s got to do it!
Oh my goodness. Snudge is soooo cute!
Oh my goodness. Smudge is soooo cute!
very cute cat!!! 🙂
and who says having a nap isn’t part of a CEO’s duty? MOL
Ok, all 3 of those recipes have me excited! er, frexcited!
so glad to know that my cat isn’t the only one who frequently sleeps in grocery bags! if we come home from whole foods, she knows we’ll put the bag on the ground for her, and if we don’t, she’ll go on the counter to get it! she’ll then rush into it a few times, then she’ll fall asleep with a big maine coon-inspired tail hanging out the end.
Oh my goodness…those FEET!
That is adorable. I didn’t know Smudge Publishing was named after the cat. How cute!
What is living Paleo for Dummies?
Nevermind I just searched and found the answer!
