Last week, I had the pleasure of chatting with Diane Sanfilippo of Balanced Bites and Liz Wolfe of Cave Girl Eats for their Balanced Bites...

I’m not exaggerating when I say that Dave, Smudge, and I are giddy — Giddy! — that the official release of Well Fed 2: More Paleo Recipes For People Who Love To Eat is imminent. I find myself in the totally blessed position of having lots of my favorite writers and bloggers ready to review our new book.
As the reviews roll in, I’m going to share them with you, along with a little somethin’-somethin’ about the blogs and bloggers themselves so you can add more kickass resources to your smarty-pants arsenal.
Please support the people who are supporting me by visiting their sites and reading what they have to say — and thank you for being part of our Well Fed 2 celebration!
Nom Nom Paleo
What It Is: Nom Nom Paleo is a paleo food blog like no other. It’s loaded with delicious, dependable paleo recipes, gorgeous photography, and just the right touch of sass. The writing is excellent, the sense of humor delightful. If you’re not following Nom Nom Paleo, you’re cheating yourself.
Who’s Behind It: The fabulous Michelle Tam is the voice and heart of Nom Nom Paleo. She’s witty and kind-hearted, but no push-over, kind of like a really good bowl of hot and sour soup! Also making regular appearances are Henry (photographer and illustrator extraordinaire) and the kids, Big O and Little O. It all adds up to just what you want: a bunch of people you’d want to hang with in the kitchen.
My Fave Quote From The Review: “As Mel’s readers know, her recipes are like taking a whirlwind culinary tour of exotic locales, from Costa Rica to Lebanon. With smart use of spices and seasonings, Mel’s flavor combinations never fail to hit the mark.” Plus, this one: “Flip through the pages of this beautiful book, and you’ll see that Mel and Dave poured every bit of themselves into the rich, flavorful, vibrant, personality-filled pages. Mel’s years of experience cooking and savoring meals from around the world—and her love of food!—shine through in each recipe.”
Another Post You Might Like: It would be easy and true to just say “All of them,” because you really will love all of Nom Nom’s post, but… I’m particularly fond of her Forky Friday dispatches and this recipe for Deconstructed Samosa.
WHO CAN RESIST THIS FAMILY?!

Do you get to relax now, or do you have to do book promoting?
I’m relaxing AND doing a bunch of book promoting 😉
We want PDX Oregon on the book signing tour!! PDX is your kind of town, I’m guessing. Music, good eats and individualism!-

Can’t wait until the 22nd and I thought Michele’s review was gorgeous!-
Bon Apetit!-
We’re not sure if we’re doing any book events yet, but if we do, we’ll definitely try to hit Oregon. I love that part of the country!
I read both of your blogs almost every day!!!
Hello there!
Rather than emailling you directly, I thought I’d ask here. You had a blog post once for a recipe with broccoli, mayo, raisins, bacon, and some other stuff. It was OMG amazing. I want to make it again and can’t find the link. Could you tell me the name of the post its in please??? My life will never be the same without that stuff. Thanks 🙂
The old version can be found here http://www.theclothesmakethegirl.com/2010/12/13/suddenly-im-in-the-mood-for-broccoli/
And the NEW, even AWESOMER version can be found in Well Fed 2 🙂
SEVEN DAYS! I can’t wait, Melissa. I pre-ordered this book in July or August, I guess? Whenever you announced it was available, I ordered it. The original Well Fed has been an indispensable resource in my kitchen. I just tone down the spices for my kiddos and all is well. They LOVE the Bora Bora Fireballs, sans heat, and we call them “Hedgies” because they look just like hedgehogs after baking – I have cool, well-read and Well Fed kids (“Hedgie” is what we call the main character of Jan Brett’s The Hat, about a little hedgehog who gets his head stuck in a little girls mitten, and is teased about it by all the barnyard animals, who nevertheless want their own wonderful hat to keep warm in winter. A heartwarming story for young and old – we discovered it when our eldest was in the hospital for an infection, and it was one of the books the nursery had available to read to her).
Sorry for that digression into anecdote. I’m certain we’ll find more fun recipes and literary references for them in WF2. Congratulations!
Hedgies! That is SO cute. Love it! Thanks for sharing!
I follow you and nomnom faithfully and have had both books on order since they were announced. I wanted desparately to fix your chicken recipe that is supposed to be downloadable from her site. It looks and sounds delicious. But… For some reason every attempt to load it onto my samsung tab has failed. Is there any way I can get it before my copy of your book arrives next week? Thanks for any help you can give me.
I emailed you the PDF. Hope it works for you!
As I made my grocery list, I thought I can’t believe it’s not time yet!! In preparation we are eating our top WellFed recipes every day this week…it’s hard to narrow down to that few! Counting the days;)
Yep, you and Michelle are AT THE TOP of my list! Thanks for making Tod Mun available. Will have to convince The Viking (my hubby) that we MUST have Well Fed and Well Fed 2 in our arsenal…
Amazon says that my book is on the way. I am hoping it arrives tomorrow. Meat and spinach muffins from Well Fed 1 are in the oven now. Maybe, just maybe, I can nibble on those while reading the new cookbook! Congratulations Mel!!!!
Got my shipping notice last night too! I know what I’ll be doing this weekend!
I can’t WAIT! All of the yummy is coming my way! Yaaaay!
I can’t wait for my book to arrive tomorrow! Michelle’s pictures of the BBQ Beef Waffle Sammie have me drooling. Looks like I know what I am making for Sunday dinner!
Enjoy that BBQ beef! Happy cooking to you!
I can’t wait for Well Fed 2!! That little sampler pdf was such a tease!!
