Our New Project: Strong Sense of Place
My new project is taking all of my attention right now, and I'd love for you to join me for new adventures! It's called Strong...

Throughout March, I’ll post ideas and tips for something you can do to improve your own health habits, along with stuff you can do to painlessly share what you know with the people you love. NRNM: Take Care of Yourself
So… I’m a day late with my Day 6 post because I’ve been zonked out in bed since noon on Saturday because I was cursed by a demon… or maybe it was just a stomach bug.
My stomach hurts, like someone is doing wall balls with a kettlebell inside my abdomen. And NOTHING sounds like it would taste right. I tried sweet potato – epic fail – and finally choked down a banana (in one-inch pieces… took me six hours to eat that damn banana) and a scrambled egg.
Anyway, my brain is functioning about as well as my digestive system, so I’m going to point you to an excellent article about how to feed yourself when you’re sick, in lieu of writing something smart myself.
Tip For You and Your Near & Dear
Check out this post from Whole9Life called Feed a Cold. It’s got great suggestions for how to baby ourselves back to good health without resorting to the usual suspects of flat ginger ale, saltines, and dry toast (although I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t freakin’ love a piece of dry toast right about now.)
Tasty quote:
[O]ur best tip yet… Remember that bad food made me feel bad when I was healthy, so bad food while I’m feeling bad is a recipe for disaster.

Considering I was just taught wall ball and kb swings today, I can literally feel the tummy depiction! I hope you feel better soon! ~*~*~
Melanie –> I'm glad you understand my pain 😉 Hoped you had a fun workout!
Bwahaha yeah I did – intense, but good.. but then the 20mins AMRAP today of 20 ring dips, 20 burpees, 20 dumbbell squat cleans kicked my @$$…………….. my first group class woohoo! 😛
OMG. 20 ring dips would make me wish I had Barbie arms again (so I could take them off to rest them).
Yeah, tell me about it! It's even worse because yesterday's WOD included pullups and pushups.. which I wasn't feeling too bad but the dips today, though scaled (used the box and lowered down instead of the rings), resolved that quite nicely.. so I will definitely be wishing I had Barbie arms in two days (usually it's worse for me 2 days later)……. eating Paleo (I would say even 95% Whole9-compliant) since ending my Whole30 has been very helpful and feeling soooo much leaner and more energetic.. but now to get STRONG!
Hope that stomach bug's been kicked to the CURB and you're back on track.. at least you'll be able to be conscious again during Law & Order! :)))
(p.s. I realize I have commented on here using two different accounts – durrrr THAT'S why my photo wasn't appearing – but I am one and the same Melanie)
