The skinny
The quality of the nine hours was somewhat iffy, but hormone poisoning should be easing off after today. Even though my sleep was only OK, I woke up feeling refreshed and ready for my workout. And that workout — a Crystal classic — was a doozie! At pushup number 25, I thought, “I can’t do 45 more of these.” But I did. Touched my chest to the ground on every one. It was VERY unpleasant. But I made a promise to myself that during these two weeks, I’m going to do all my movements with the heaviest weight I can and with the full range of motion… no matter how long it takes or how uncomfortable it makes me feel.
The veggie/fruit count is pretty low because I went out for Tex-Mex breakfast after our workout and ate some corn tortilla chips — and then went to a movie in the evening and ate popcorn! Not the best way to get my carbs…

Wow! I'm so impressed with that workout. You certainly worked for those tortilla chips! Go you guys!
So I am a dork and totally missed that being a part of "Veggies and Sleep and Training, Oh My!" meant posting your veggies and sleep and training on your blog. So, while I have been 100% in…I failed to post. DUH?!?
I will totally join the posting.
So far I slept 10 hours (HALLELUJAH!) and had asparagus with my eggs. That is as far as I've gotten today. My veggie intake has been great, my sleep has been shotty…still working on what I need to do during the day to ensure quality sleep. I'll keep you updated.
HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND EVERYONE!
Morning, Mel! : -) Awesome job on the pushups!!!! And I know what it's like to push those puppies out one by one. So doing them all with full ROM kicks some serious butt! or pecs!! ha! And I hope you enjoyed your popcorn! Gotta treat yourself every once in a while!
8 hours sleep! whoo-hoo!
9:00 1 h.b egg, 10 almonds, 1 apple

Veggies: Not great again – spinach and mushrooms with my eggs and asparagus with salmon at dinner.
Went to the store today and got the fixings for the coconut banana ice cream and sunshine sauce. Also saw tahini paste. Remembered hearing good things about it, so bought some…now what do I do with it?

MelG -> 10 hours! AWESOME! And your veggies are beautimous!
Question for all my veggie buddies, I bought a chayote squash. What the heck do I do with it?
Looks like you can sautee it like other summer squash… here's a recipe I found with a google search. Seems like any zucchini recipe would work well with it…
