Dave and Me… On TV

A few months ago, we were invited to appear on Downtown, a TV show on KLRU (our local PBS station) that highlights “people, places, stories and situations that make DOWNTOWN: As Austin As It Gets.”We were part of a segment called Downtown on a Dime. They gave us $50, and we had to eat at two restaurants and have fun all day, without running out of money. We visited the Zilker botanical gardens, Jo’s Coffee, Blackmail, a beat poets exhibit at the Harry Ransom Center, Koriente, and a movie in the park — all while trying to make normal conversation while wearing mics and being trailed by a camera.

The show airs tonight and also includes segments on the Austin History Center and the Republic of Texas biker rally.

You can watch it on KLRU @ 8:00 p.m. or Time Warner Cable’s Central Texas on Demand, Channel 1400.
