Meet The Paleo Drummer

WF2_oct22I’m not exaggerating when I say that Dave, Smudge, and I are giddy — Giddy! — that the official release of Well Fed 2: More Paleo Recipes For People Who Love To Eat is imminent. I find myself in the totally blessed position of having lots of my favorite writers and bloggers ready to review our new book.

As the reviews roll in, I’m going to share them with you, along with a little somethin’-somethin’ about the blogs and bloggers themselves so you can add more kickass resources to your smarty-pants arsenal.

Please support the people who are supporting me by visiting their sites and reading what they have to say — and thank you for being part of our Well Fed 2 celebration!

The Paleo Drummer

What It Is: The Paleo Drummer is a brash, opinionated, well-written tornado of kickass, common-sense advice about eating paleo and training your body. It’s punk rock at its finest, fueled by bacon and barbells.

Who’s Behind It: The Paleo Drummer is written by Steve, a paleo/primal musician in the “wilds of rural New Jersey.” Yes, he’s a CrossFit badass. But he also walks almost every day and gets down with the meditation. F*ck, yeah!

My Fave Quote From The Review: “And no chapter of a cookbook was ever better-titled than “Burgers, Balls and Bangers.” It’s all about how to turn out 15 different kinds (e.g., Lebanese, Chorizo, Turkey and Cranberry, Thai Green Curry…) of (your choice) burgers, meatballs or bangers. It’s not just clever. It’s freaking genius.” (Note from Mel: You know I love it when you call me a genius.)

Another Post You Might Like: I love the thinking in this post called “F#%k the dietary ‘cheat.’ Or why eating has nothing to do with ‘cheating.'” Steve serves up some great advice on re-framing the way we think about what we put into our mouths.

Congratulations about the very-soon release of Well Fed 2! What an accomplishment. I can’t wait to buy it and have used so many recipes in Well Fed.

  • Jasmin says:

Yes, Giddy! GIDDY! You are far too generous with the PDF! Well Fed 2 looks so gorgeous! Thank you for the sneak peek.

  • Paleo Granny says:

My granddaughter “borrowed” my copy of Well Fed. I’m thinking she might like Well Fed 2 for Christmas so I ordered two copies!

  • Anne says:

Yay! This looks even more awesome than the first one, and that already has a special place in my kitchen! This is so coming out of my next pay check 😀 Is ordering directly from you still the way to go for us European Well-Fedso’s? (I’m not just asking because that might get me another autographed copy, I promise! ;p)

  • Chantal says:

Man I just received Well Fed (Part 1) and have already tried a bunch of recipes and I fell like the book was written for me. Indian, Middle Eastern and North African food is probably my favorite culinary regions. Even my husband was getting all excited. Oh and you had me at Jane Eyre. Thank you for helping me jump right into the paleo lifestyle… I’m not scared to dive in anymore! Can’t wait for Well Fed 2!

    • Mel says:

Another spice lover! YAY! I’m really glad you’re enjoying Well Fed, and when you’re ready, I think you’ll love WF2, too! Lots more fun food from that part of the world — and lots of delicious Asian-influenced stuff, too.

I’m feeling a lot of Jane Eyre pull right now. Might be time to read it again 🙂

Congratulations on jumping into paleo. YAY!
