i am sparta

Observant readers will note that I’m not shouting about my Sparta-ness just now. I’m tired. It’s 9:42 p.m., and I should be in bed — early start tomorrow. I’ve reached the point at which I’m so worn out, I’m made almost entirely of anxiety.

I know tomorrow is going to be great, but right now all I can think about is my to-do list:
6:30 a.m. Weight Watchers weigh-in and meeting
7:45 a.m. Report to CrossFit Central for measuring, weighing, calipering
8:30 a.m. Spartan 300 Challenge Workout
9:15 a.m. Run at the lake with Dave: 20 minutes without stopping
11:00 a.m. Breakfast @ Habanero (coffee and a chair… mmmmmm!)
1:00 p.m. Artist’s Way book club
3:30 p.m. NAP

At last month’s Spartan 300 Challenge, I finished first in my group with a time of 14:53. But (Dave gets angry with me when I equivocate like this, but…) I used a light bar (35 lbs.) and I did all the pushups on my knees and on the box jumps, I did step-ups instead of jumps on 5 reps.

A reminder of the brutality (and awesomeness) of the workout:
25 pullups
50 deadlifts
50 pushups
50 box jumps
50 floor sweepers
50 kettlebell clean w/ press
25 pullups

I have goals for tomorrow:
1. Use the 45-lb. bar for deadlifts and floor sweepers
2. Do at least 20 pushups on my toes, as low as possible – then 30 on knees to the floor
3. Do all 50 box jumps as jumps

I just don’t even know what to say about the pullups. I’m not sure my chin cleared the bar at all last time, and that was with a box for help. Um. I will muddle though the pullups.

Good!

4. Muddle through the pullups
